God’s Will for us: Surrendering to His Will

Before surrendering to God’s will, we must first understand what His will for us is. We can know His will through prayer and Bible reading.

Psalms 143:10-Teach me to do thy will; for thou [art] my God: thy spirit [is] good; lead me into the land of uprightness

The Word of God has the power to change your mind and make you sensitive to the Spirit leading. You can know the perfect will of God when you live a Spirit-led lifestyle.

Romans 12:2-And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

1 John 2:17-And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

God’s Will for us: True Salvation

One good reason to be thankful to God even in the midst of difficult circumstances in life is that He has chosen us. He has chosen us according to His will, not because of anything good in us. Without Him, we are nothing more than dead sinners.

Ephesians 1:11-In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

God’s Will for us: Sanctification

Sanctification is a lifelong process in the life of a Christian. From the moment of our Salvation, God is consistently working in us to change us from glory to glory. God’s will for us is that we get transformed to the image of Christ.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-For this is the will of God, [even] your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

Philippians 2:12-13-Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

God’s Will for us: Making God our strength

God doesn’t want us to do anything through our own strength. We are called to rely on His strength and power to accomplish His will for our lives.

God wants us to make Him our strength, not money or power or fame or relationships or achievements.

Isaiah 26:4-Trust ye in the LORD forever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH [is] everlasting strength:

God’s Will for us: His plans to be fulfilled

Our human understanding is very limited. We do not know the complete picture. God knows the end right from the beginning of times. He knows us better than us. He has a very good plan for each of our lives. Our own plans may look good now, but God’s plans are the best for eternity. God’s will for us is that we seek His plans to be executed in our lives.

Jeremiah 29:11-For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
