Why should Jesus die, if He is God? Are God and Jesus the same person? Why did they kill Jesus?

Jesus is God's only Son, and He existed from the beginning. Jesus is God manifested in the flesh.

So, why should Jesus die if He is God?

God is Just

God is a just God. As a righteous judge, He has to punish evil doing. He cannot tolerate sin, and He loves Justice.

Isaiah 61:8 - "For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them."

Psalms 106:3 - "Blessed [are] they that keep judgment, [and] he that doeth righteousness at all times."

Proverbs 21:15 - "[It is] joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction [shall be] to the workers of iniquity."

Amos 5:24 - "But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream."

Romans 12:19 - "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath, for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord."

All men are Sinners:

Every human being has the sin disease and deserves an eternity in hell. We inherit sin from the first man Adam, and we sin almost every day, knowingly and unknowingly. We were born as sinners.

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God"

Romans 3:10 "As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one"

1 John 1:8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Psalms 51:5- Behold, I was shaped in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me

The Wages of Sin is Death:

The price for sin is death resulting in eternal separation from God.

Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our LORD."

Jesus - The Only Holy Man, Paid the Penalty:

To rescue man from eternal damnation, the blood sacrifice of a Holy and perfect man who never committed any sin was required.

No man deserved to pay the price for our eternal salvation, as we are all filthy sinners.

Hence, God, who alone is perfect, came down to earth as a man and shed His blood on the cross to buy our pardon.

1 Peter 2:22 - "Who(Jesus) did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth."

Jesus paid the penalty for our sins on the cross and earned our salvation.

Salvation is a gift to everyone who truly believes in Him and accepts Him as their personal Saviour. Jesus paid our sin debt, and such a great Salvation is free for us.

Romans 5:19 - "For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous."
