7 Reasons God allows Pain and Suffering

God doesn't create pain and suffering in this world. However, He is in control of the whole universe. He allows pain and suffering and makes it work for the good of His children.

If you are a Christian who is saved by the Grace of God, through faith in Christ, you need not and should not worry about suffering and pain in this life like the unsaved people. Why? Because you have something much greater than what a perfectly happy life on earth can offer. You have the Gift of Salvation and assurance of spending Eternal Life in Heaven.

God allows suffering and pain in the life of a Christian for the following reasons and many others beyond our understanding.

1) Suffering and Pain re-shape our character

2) Suffering makes us focus on God

3) Suffering reminds us that this is not our home. Our home is in heaven. We are just pilgrims and aliens in this world.

4) Suffering produces patience, endurance and other fruits of the Spirit

5) Suffering and Pain make us forsake our sinful habits and turn to God

6) Our hope amid suffering is a witness to the lost world.

7) We may suffer so that we can comfort those who go through similar pain.

God wastes no pain. He makes all things work for our good, if not for this life, definitely for eternity.
